Golden Visa Medical Test: Arabic Form Translation Guide

You got the Golden Visa approval. The hard part is over, degree verification, document submission, the long wait. Then GDRFA sends you to a medical fitness centre for the mandatory health check. You show up, and they hand you a form. In Arabic. Only Arabic.

You’re standing in the queue, form in hand, trying to figure out what it’s asking. The person behind you is waiting. The receptionist is busy. Nobody offers a translation.

What the medical form actually asks

The form is a standard medical intake. It’s not complicated, but it feels complicated when you can’t read the language. Here’s what it typically covers:

• Personal details. Full name, nationality, passport number, date of birth, visa reference number. These fields are often labelled with numbers or in a format you can figure out from context.
• Medical history. Do you have chronic conditions? Are you on regular medication? Have you had surgery in the past two years? Any infectious diseases? These are yes/no checkbox questions.
• Consent. Agreement to undergo the tests (blood work, chest X-ray, general examination). Standard medical consent language.
• Emergency contact. Name and phone number of someone to contact.

The tests themselves are straightforward: blood sample for HIV, hepatitis B and C screening, and a chest X-ray for tuberculosis. Some centres include a brief physical examination. Results go directly to GDRFA electronically.

How to get through it

Ask the staff. Medical fitness centres deal with non-Arabic speakers daily. Most staff members can walk you through the form in English. It’s a routine process for them, you’re not the first person who can’t read it.

Bring someone who reads Arabic. If you have a friend, colleague, or PRO who reads Arabic, bring them along for the paperwork portion. The actual medical tests don’t require language, rolling up your sleeve for a blood draw is universal.

Use your phone. Camera-based translation apps can handle a printed form reasonably well. It won’t be perfect, but it will give you enough context to fill in the right fields. Point your camera at each section and read the translation before writing.

The documents angle

The medical fitness form itself doesn’t typically need professional translation, it’s an intake form you fill out and leave behind. But if you have medical records or vaccination certificates from your home country, check whether they are in English or Arabic. If not, the medical centre may ask for translations.

This comes up when:

• You have a pre-existing condition documented in another language
• Your vaccination records are in French, German, Urdu, or another language
• You’re on medication and the prescription is in a non-English language
