Errors that cost money

Translation mistakes sound minor until they’re not. Here are patterns we see:

• Name transliteration mismatch. “Mohammed” vs “Muhammad” vs “Mohamed” across documents creates verification failures at banks, GDRFA, and corporate registries. One inconsistency cascades through every linked document.
• Amount discrepancies. Arabic numerals read right-to-left in text context. A translated invoice showing “150,000” where the original says “105,000” changes the entire financial obligation. Comma and decimal conventions differ between Arabic and English contexts.
• Clause mistranslation. “الطرف الأول يتعهد” (the first party commits) vs “الطرف الأول قد يتعهد” (the first party may commit): one word changes an obligation into a suggestion.
• Date format errors. Hijri dates mistranslated to Gregorian dates can shift contract timelines by days or weeks.

Why accountability matters
