Read the record as a set, not a label
“Degree” or “certificate” is not enough detail. The issuing institution, attached marksheets, reverse endorsements and destination request determine what an English deliverable must contain.
- Include the entire Devanagari page, English already printed, seals and handwritten endorsements.
- Keep academic results with the qualification they explain.
- Give the passport spelling and point out any different version on the source.
- Ask the recipient whether it needs a reading translation, recreated layout or credentialed submission copy.

What should accompany a Hindi-to-English request?
Provide the full Devanagari source, reverse endorsements, schedules and any marksheets tied to the main certificate. Add the named recipient, purpose and deadline, then identify the passport or existing destination record that should control each English name.
Can a marksheet be translated without the degree?
It can be read as a separate source, but the institution name, qualification and subject context may be clearer when the related degree is supplied. Ask the destination whether it wants both documents and whether it requires a particular format or credential.
Why is retyped Hindi not a safe source?
Devanagari characters combine and can change shape or apparent order in context. The original page also preserves Hindi or European digits, tables, seals and handwriting. A typed extract can remove the evidence needed to interpret those details.
Does every Hindi-to-English job have the same UAE credential?
No. The recipient and use determine which output credential matters. Separately, UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 22 of 2022 requires a translator or translation house practising in the UAE to be registered and licensed, apart from its narrow judicial-authority exception. Ask the scope to identify the actual fulfiller and pair.
Is apostille the only Indian document route?
No. The Indian Ministry of External Affairs distinguishes apostille from normal attestation and describes different preliminary handling for personal, educational and commercial documents. India has been within the Convention since 14 July 2005, but the destination and recipient still decide what they require.
How is an English spelling chosen from Hindi?
Use the passport or an identity record already governing the destination file. If a degree, marksheet and passport show different Latin spellings, disclose the mismatch before translation. Devanagari alone does not produce one mandatory English transliteration.
Can a digital scan start the process?
It can be sufficient to assess legibility, page count and formatting. It is not evidence that the recipient accepts digital delivery. Confirm whether the final use needs an original, physical certified output or any separate document authentication.
