About translating a CV

OnlineTranslation.ae is an independent service partner. Arabic–English legal translation is performed by MOJ-licensed legal translator Mohamed Khalid (personal MOJ Licence #688, valid until 8 March 2029; Al Qemma Legal Translation). The licence is held by the translator, not by OnlineTranslation.ae. We work with partners including Arkan Legal Translation and

MOJ Licensed Legal Translator Mohamed Khalid (MOJ Licence #688, Arabic–English) — Al Qemma Legal Translation (DED Licence 876257)

A CV usually needs translating when a job application, a recruiter or an employer here asks for Arabic, or when an Arabic CV goes to a company, university or programme abroad that reads English.

Most CVs do not need a legal translation. A recruiter reading your experience only needs an accurate, readable version. A stamped legal translation matters when the CV is filed with other official papers and the receiving body says so. Ask them first; we offer both and help you choose on WhatsApp.

Job titles, company names and course names are where translations go wrong. We keep company names as they are officially written, give job titles their usual equivalent rather than a word-for-word copy, and keep dates, grades and certificate numbers exactly as you wrote them.

We translate; we do not edit your career. If a line in the original is unclear, we ask you before we finish rather than guess or polish the claim.

What a CV usually contains

  • A header with your name, contact details and sometimes nationality, visa status or date of birth.
  • A short profile or objective, followed by each position held, with duties and achievements listed under it.
  • Education, training courses, licences and memberships, each with a date or year.
  • Languages, computer skills and references. We translate each section as it appears.

What to send

  • The CV as an editable Word file if you have it, or a clear PDF.
  • Your name as it appears in the passport.
  • Who will receive the translation and whether they asked for a stamped legal translation.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about our translation services.

How much does it cost to translate a CV?

We do not publish a fixed price here, because one CV is a single page and the next runs to four pages with a long list of courses and projects. Send the CV on WhatsApp. A real person on our team usually replies within 1–3 minutes and then confirms the exact price for your file before you pay.

Does my CV need a legal translation?

Often it does not. Many employers and recruiters only need a clear translation they can read, and a standard translation is enough. Some bodies ask for a stamped legal translation, usually when the CV goes into an official file. Check what the receiving body asks for, and we offer either a standard or a legal translation to match. Legal translation is available between Arabic and English only.

Will you keep my layout and formatting?

Yes. We keep the sections, headings, dates and bullet points in the same order as your CV, and we deliver an editable Word file as well as a PDF when you ask for one, so you can update it later.

Will the employer accept the translation?

The employer, recruiter, university or authority receiving the translation decides whether to accept it and what else it needs. We translate what your CV says. We do not rewrite it, add experience or improve claims that are not in the original.
