About translating UAE school certificates

The UAE school certificate we see most often is the Arabic secondary school leaving certificate, and the usual reason is a university application abroad. Admissions offices in the UK, Canada, Europe and elsewhere ask for an English version, and a student visa file at an embassy may ask for the same document again.

Families moving abroad also send transfer certificates and report cards for a new school, and parents who studied here years ago sometimes need their own certificate in English for a job or a professional registration overseas. Into Arabic, the request is usually an English report or letter from a private school that a UAE authority wants to read in Arabic.

The subject table is where care matters. Each subject name, mark, grade and total has to stay exactly as printed, and the stream and result wording has to read naturally in English. We keep the table structure so an admissions officer can match each line to the original.

What a UAE school certificate looks like on paper

  • The top carries the emblem and name of the issuing ministry or education authority, the type of certificate and the academic year.
  • The student section gives the name, nationality, date of birth, student number and school, and sometimes a photo.
  • The main part is a table of subjects with marks or grades, followed by the total, the percentage and the result.
  • At the bottom are signatures, the school or authority stamp, a certificate number and often a QR or verification code. We translate the text and describe each stamp.
