We handle the complete attestation chain from start to finish. For MOFA attestation, embassy legalization, or apostille services, we coordinate every step so you do not have to visit multiple offices in Dubai or Abu Dhabi.

Standard Attestation Chain for Dubai Submissions

The typical process follows this path: notarization in the issuing country, Foreign Ministry authentication, UAE Embassy attestation, and finally MOFA stamp in the UAE. Countries in the Hague ConventionIndia, UK, US, Philippines — use an apostille instead of the full embassy route. Canada also follows the apostille path through Global Affairs Canada.

For UK documents specifically, clients often ask whether British Council handling replaces legalisation. It does not. Read our UK attestation clarification before paying for the wrong step.

Document Types We Attest

Each document type has specific requirements depending on the issuing country. We verify the correct chain before starting to prevent rejections.

Who Uses Attestation Services in Dubai

The common caller profiles are expats completing family residency or golden visa applications, businesses setting up with a foreign parent company, professionals submitting degrees for MOHESR equivalency, and family members handling probate or marriage matters where the document was issued outside the UAE. Each scenario has a different chain and a different sensitivity to timing. We confirm the correct route before any fee is paid, which prevents the most common rejection cause — a document authenticated in the wrong order.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about our translation services.

What is document attestation?

Document attestation verifies the authenticity of documents for use in another country. For UAE use, the chain typically includes notarization in the issuing country, Foreign Ministry authentication, UAE Embassy attestation, and MOFA stamp in the UAE.

What is MOFA attestation?

MOFA attestation is the final stamp from the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs that makes a foreign document valid for use before UAE courts, ministries, and government agencies. It comes after notarization in the issuing country, Foreign Ministry authentication there, and UAE Embassy legalization. Without the MOFA stamp, UAE authorities will not accept the document. See our MOFA attestation page for the full process, costs, and timelines.

How long does attestation take?

Timelines vary by country. India: 2-3 weeks. UK: 1-2 weeks. US: 2-3 weeks. Philippines: 2-4 weeks. We track your documents at every step and provide updates via WhatsApp.

Do I need attestation before or after translation?

Generally, attestation comes before translation. The attested document is then translated with MOJ certification. However, some processes require translation first. We advise on the correct sequence for your specific case.

Which countries use apostille for the home-country step?

Countries that joined the Hague Apostille Convention use a single apostille certificate to replace their multi-step home-country authentication. India, UK, US, Canada, Philippines, and Bangladesh issue apostilles. The UAE is NOT a Hague member, so for any document inbound to the UAE, UAE Embassy attestation in the issuing country and UAE MOFA attestation are still required after the apostille — apostille alone is never sufficient. Pakistan and other non-Hague countries follow the full home-MFA → UAE Embassy → UAE MOFA chain.

What documents need attestation for UAE use?

Educational certificates (degrees, transcripts), personal documents (birth, marriage, police clearance), and commercial documents (trade licenses, power of attorney) typically need attestation. This applies when the document was issued outside the UAE.

Is MOFA attestation the same as embassy attestation?

No. MOFA (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) attestation is the final UAE step. Embassy attestation happens at the UAE Embassy in the issuing country. The full chain is: country authentication, UAE Embassy stamp, then MOFA stamp in the UAE.

Can you handle attestation for documents from any country?

We handle attestation for the most common origin countries in the UAE: India, Pakistan, UK, US, Philippines, Bangladesh, Egypt, Jordan, and others. Each country has a specific chain we coordinate.

What if my document attestation is rejected?

We verify the attestation chain requirements before starting. If a step fails, we identify the issue and advise on correction. Common reasons include missing notarization or expired documents.

Do you provide MOFA fast-track service?

MOFA processing in the UAE typically takes 2-3 business days. We submit your documents promptly and track the status. There is no official fast-track option through MOFA.

How much does attestation cost?

Costs depend on the country and document type. Government fees (MOFA, embassy) are separate from our coordination fee. WhatsApp us your document for a complete breakdown of all fees involved.
