A UAE tenancy contract is the lease you sign with the landlord. In Dubai, that contract is often registered in Ejari, the RERA tenancy system. This page explains what the document is, who issues it, when English is needed, and how to order a translation. It does not replace legal advice, and it does not target tenancy-contract translation service queries owned elsewhere.

What a UAE tenancy contract and Ejari are

The tenancy contract sets rent, term, parties, and property details. Ejari is Dubai’s registration of that contract with the Real Estate Regulatory Agency (RERA). Other emirates use their own municipal or free-zone registration. The Arabic wording on the signed contract is the one that matters for disputes.

Who issues it

  • The landlord (or agent) prepares the contract; both parties sign.
  • In Dubai, registration is through Ejari / RERA channels. Confirm current steps on the official Dubai land and tenancy services before you rely on any third-party summary.

Arabic layout: fields you will see

Typical Arabic/English bilingual or Arabic-only contracts show: landlord and tenant names, Emirates ID or passport numbers, property address and plot, rent amount and payment schedule, start and end dates, and deposit terms. An Ejari extract repeats registration number, parties, and property identifiers. Every stamp and seal on the page should appear in the translation.

When it needs English

Banks, schools, embassies, and some visa checklists ask for an English copy of an Arabic tenancy contract or Ejari extract as proof of UAE address or ties. The receiving body decides. For Sharjah-focused service pages see Sharjah tenancy translation. For a price after a document check, see tenancy contract translation pricing.

How to order a translation

Send a clear photo or PDF of the contract or Ejari extract. We confirm the language pair and the price before payment. Arabic–English translations are signed by an MOJ-licensed legal translator. We do not register or renew Ejari, and we do not decide whether a bank or embassy will accept the file.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about our translation services.

What is a UAE tenancy contract?

A UAE tenancy contract is the lease between landlord and tenant. In Dubai, tenancy contracts are commonly registered through Ejari (the RERA tenancy registration system). Other emirates have their own registration routes. The Arabic contract is the legal text; an English version is a translation of that text.

When does a tenancy contract need translating?

When a bank, school, embassy, visa checklist, or court asks for an English copy of an Arabic tenancy contract or Ejari extract. The receiving body decides whether translation is required. We only translate.

Do you register or renew Ejari?

No. We translate the documents you send. Registration and renewal stay with you and the relevant authority.
