If you won a case in Dubai or Abu Dhabi and need to enforce the judgment in India, the UK or another country, the court there will usually need it in English. We translate UAE court judgments and the papers that go with them from Arabic into English. For judgments being used inside the UAE, see our court verdict translation page.

What is usually in the file

  • The judgment itself, including the reasoning and the operative part (the order)
  • Execution papers from the execution file, if enforcement has started in the UAE
  • A certificate of finality or similar paper showing the judgment can no longer be appealed
  • Appeal and cassation judgments, if the case went further

Your lawyer in the other country decides which of these the court there needs.

The English translation

We translate the full text of each document, including stamps, headers, case numbers and signatures, so the reader can match the translation to the Arabic original page by page. Party names are spelled the same way throughout, ideally as in passports or company records you send us.

India, the UK and other countries

Each country has its own rules for recognising and enforcing a foreign judgment, and those rules change. We translate the documents; we do not advise on enforcement. Speak to your lawyer in the country where you will enforce before you decide what to translate.

Long files and quoting by page

Judgment files range from a few pages to several hundred. Send the full file and we count the pages, agree the scope with you, and quote by page. See the UAE court judgment translation price page for how we price this work.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about our translation services.

Do I need the whole case file translated?

Not always. Many files only need the judgment and the papers showing it is final, but the foreign court or your lawyer there decides. Ask your lawyer for the list, and we quote for exactly those documents.

Can you translate a 100+ page judgment?

Yes. Long files are quoted by page after we see them, and the same translator or team keeps terms and names consistent through the whole file. Timing is confirmed at quote.

Does it need attestation?

That depends on the country where you will use it. Your lawyer there can confirm. For background, see our attestation page.
