Affidavit and Sworn Declaration Translation (Arabic and English)

We translate affidavits, sworn declarations and undertakings between Arabic and English: declarations sworn abroad before a notary or a consulate that now need Arabic for use in the UAE, and Arabic declarations made here that need English for an embassy, an employer or a court overseas. There is no published price on this page: send the affidavit on WhatsApp. A real person on our team replies on WhatsApp within 1 to 3 minutes and then confirms the exact price for your file before you pay.

About translating affidavits and declarations

OnlineTranslation.ae is an independent service partner. Arabic–English legal translation is performed by MOJ-licensed legal translator Mohamed Khalid (personal MOJ Licence #688, valid until 8 March 2029; Al Qemma Legal Translation). The licence is held by the translator, not by OnlineTranslation.ae. We work with partners including Arkan Legal Translation and

Affidavits reach us from two directions. Many are sworn abroad, before a notary in the UK, a commissioner of oaths in India or Pakistan, or a consulate, and are then needed in the UAE: at a court, by a marriage registrar, at a school or by an employer that works in Arabic. Those need an Arabic translation. Others are declarations made in Arabic here that an embassy or an authority overseas asks to read in English.

A translation does not make a declaration sworn or notarised, and it does not replace the original. The original keeps its legal effect, and the translation lets the reader understand exactly what was declared. If you still need to swear or notarise the declaration itself, do that first and send us the signed and sealed version.

The wording of an affidavit is deliberate: the oath formula, the numbered statements and the officer's certificate at the end each carry weight. We keep the paragraph numbering and translate the oath and certificate wording in full, so the reader can match each statement to the original.

What an affidavit looks like on paper

  • Most affidavits open with a heading naming the type of declaration and sometimes the court or jurisdiction, followed by the declarant's name, nationality, ID or passport number and address.
  • The body is a list of numbered statements, each a single fact, such as marital status, a name used in another document, or support for a family member.
  • An oath or affirmation formula follows, then the declarant's signature and the date and place.
  • The last part is the officer's certificate: a notary, commissioner or consular officer's seal, signature and commission details, sometimes with stamp paper or a sticker. We translate the text and describe each seal.

What to send

  • A clear copy of every page of the affidavit, including the notary or consular page.
  • Any exhibit pages referred to in the affidavit that the receiving body wants translated.
  • The spelling of names the way they appear in the passports concerned.
  • Where the translation is going, for example a court, a marriage registrar, an embassy, a school or an employer.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about our translation services.

How much does it cost to translate an affidavit?

We do not publish a fixed price here, because one order is a one-page single-status declaration and the next is a five-page affidavit with exhibits and a consular certificate. Send the affidavit on WhatsApp. A real person on our team replies on WhatsApp within 1 to 3 minutes and then confirms the exact price for your file before you pay.

Do you translate affidavits in languages other than English and Arabic?

This page covers Arabic and English only, and both directions are done by an MOJ-licensed translator. For an affidavit in another language, send it on WhatsApp and we tell you before you pay which type of translation we can provide.

Can you write or notarise the affidavit for me?

No. We translate an affidavit that has already been made. Drafting, swearing and notarising are done by you with a notary, a court or a consulate.

Do you translate the notary's certificate and stamps?

Yes. The notary or consular certificate is part of the document. We translate its wording and describe each seal and sticker as it appears.

Will the court or embassy accept the translation?

The court, embassy, authority or employer receiving the translation decides whether to accept it and what else it needs with it. We translate what the affidavit says and do not give legal advice on it.
