How to recognise an Egyptian degree certificate

Egyptian degree certificates are issued in Arabic by public and private universities, usually by the faculty that awarded the degree. The top of the page normally carries the emblem of the Arab Republic of Egypt on one side and the university logo on the other, with a heading such as "graduation certificate" or "official extract" and the faculty name, for example the Faculty of Pharmacy, Commerce or Engineering.
The body follows a fixed wording: the faculty certifies that the graduate, born in a named place on a given date, obtained the bachelor's degree in a named field in a given exam session, with a general grade and a total mark written in words and figures. Below that you usually find the issue date, the graduate's national ID number, the council approval dates, the signatures of the graduates' affairs officer and the dean, round university seals, revenue stamps, a photo and a serial number.
The reverse holds the attestation stickers added for use in the UAE. Those are part of what the receiving body reads, so we translate them with the certificate when they fall within the page scope.

Do I translate before or after UAE MOFA attestation?
If your route needs UAE MOFA attestation, finish the attestation first and send us the final document, front and reverse. The English translation then covers the stickers and stamps as well as the certificate. Attestation is a separate step with the authorities; you can approach UAE MOFA directly. We translate the document; we do not provide attestation.
My certificate says "official extract" (مستخرج رسمي). Is that the same document?
Many Egyptian faculties issue the graduation certificate as an official extract. We translate it exactly as issued, including that heading, the faculty name and the stamps. Whether a particular authority accepts an extract or asks for another version is the receiving body's decision.
How do you write my name in English?
Egyptian degrees give the full name in Arabic only, usually with the father's and grandfather's names. Send your passport or Emirates ID and we use that spelling. If no English reference exists, we agree the spelling with you before the translation is finalised.
Are the grade and total marks translated?
Yes. The general grade (for example مقبول, جيد or جيد جداً), the total marks written in words and figures, the exam session and the council approval lines are all part of the certificate and are translated within the page scope.
