About This Document
Indian degree certificates are issued in English by universities across India. They confirm the degree title, field of study, and date of conferral. For use in the UAE, they need to be translated into Arabic by an MOJ-licensed translator.
Since India joined the Hague Apostille Convention in 2023, degree certificates can be apostilled through the MEA (Ministry of External Affairs) e-Apostille portal. Because the UAE is not a Hague member, the MEA apostille only covers the Indian-side authentication — UAE Embassy attestation in India and UAE MOFA attestation are still required afterwards before the document can be used in the UAE.
After the full chain is complete (MEA apostille → UAE Embassy in India → UAE MOFA attestation), the MOJ-translated degree is ready for submission to MOHRE for work permit processing, MOHESR for degree equivalency, and GDRFA for Golden Visa applications. The UAE MOFA sticker is what UAE government bodies actually check at submission.

How much does Indian degree certificate translation cost in Dubai?

Do I need MOHESR equivalency for my Indian degree?
If using your degree for employment, most employers and MOHRE require degree certificate translation but not always MOHESR equivalency. For regulated professions (medicine, engineering, teaching), MOHESR equivalency is mandatory and requires a translated and attested degree.
Does an Indian degree certificate need apostille?
India is a member of the Hague Apostille Convention. Indian degrees can be apostilled by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) via the e-Apostille portal. The UAE is not a Hague member, so apostille alone is not sufficient — after the MEA apostille you still need UAE Embassy attestation in India and UAE MOFA attestation in the UAE before any UAE authority will accept the document. A certified Arabic translation is also required.
Can I use this translation for Golden Visa application?
Yes. The Golden Visa requires MOJ-certified translation of your degree certificate. Your degree must be from a recognized university and may also require MOHESR equivalency depending on the visa category.
Which Indian degrees are accepted for UAE employment?
The UAE recognizes degrees from universities approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC) or AICTE. Distance-learning degrees from IGNOU and other recognized institutions are also accepted. Unrecognized degrees may be rejected during DataFlow verification.
How long does the translation take?
