UAE Trade Licence Translation (Arabic and English)

We translate UAE trade licences between Arabic and English: mainland licences from Dubai and the northern emirates, free zone licences that are printed in English only, and the register extracts and partner lists that go with them. There is no published price on this page: send the licence on WhatsApp. A real person on our team replies on WhatsApp within 1 to 3 minutes and then confirms the exact price for your file before you pay.

About translating a UAE trade licence

OnlineTranslation.ae is an independent service partner. Arabic–English legal translation is performed by MOJ-licensed legal translator Mohamed Khalid (personal MOJ Licence #688, valid until 8 March 2029; Al Qemma Legal Translation). The licence is held by the translator, not by OnlineTranslation.ae. We work with partners including Arkan Legal Translation and

A trade licence is usually asked for when a UAE company deals with someone outside the country: a foreign bank opening a corporate account, a supplier or partner checking who they are dealing with, a tender, or an embassy looking at an owner's business visa. Mainland licences show many fields in Arabic only, so those readers need an English translation.

The other direction comes up with free zone companies. Their licences and certificates are often issued in English only, and a notary, a court or a mainland authority working in Arabic may then ask for an Arabic translation, for example when the company signs a power of attorney or opens a branch.

The part people underestimate is the activity list. A licence can carry a dozen activities, each with its own official name and code, and the partner table can run to several rows with shares and roles. We translate each activity and each row in full rather than summarising, so nothing is lost when someone compares the translation to the licence.

What a UAE trade licence looks like on paper

  • The top carries the issuing department's name and emblem, the licence number, the trade name in Arabic and English, and the legal form such as limited liability company or sole establishment.
  • Next come the issue and expiry dates, the registered address, and the chamber of commerce or register number.
  • The activity section lists each licensed activity, often with a numeric code, and the partner section lists owners, partners and managers with nationality, role and share.
  • Most licences end with a QR code or a verification panel and a note on how to check the licence online. We describe these as they appear and translate the printed text.

What to send

  • A clear copy or the PDF of every page of the trade licence.
  • The register extract, partner list or chamber certificate if the receiving body asked for it.
  • The spelling of the company and partner names the way they appear on your other English documents.
  • Where the translation is going, for example a bank abroad, an embassy, a tender, a notary or a court.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about our translation services.

How much does it cost to translate a trade licence?

We do not publish a fixed price here, because one order is a single-page free zone licence and the next is a mainland licence with a long activity list, a register extract and a partner table. Send the licence on WhatsApp. A real person on our team replies on WhatsApp within 1 to 3 minutes and then confirms the exact price for your file before you pay.

My licence is already bilingual. Why translate it?

Many mainland licences print the headings in both languages but fill in the activities, address or partner details in Arabic only. A reader who does not know Arabic cannot check them. We translate the filled-in content so the full licence can be read in one language.

Can you translate a free zone licence into Arabic?

Yes. Free zone licences and certificates are often in English only, and we translate them into Arabic for notaries, courts and mainland authorities.

My licence is from Abu Dhabi. Should I use this page?

Abu Dhabi commercial licences and register extracts have their own page. This page covers the other emirates and the free zones.

Will the bank or embassy accept the translation?

The bank, embassy, authority or partner receiving the translation decides whether to accept it and what else it needs with it. We translate what the licence says. We do not set up, renew or amend licences, or contact the issuing department.
